Recipe for an alcoholic cocktail Blue Lagoon
Long drink (blue-lagoon) The Blue Lagoon has an excellent pedigree: he is a relative of the Bloody Mary cocktail and several other famous and popular cocktails. He was invented in 1972 by Andy McElhon – the son of the legendary Harry McElhon.
Harry was the manager, and then the owner of the first cocktail bar in Europe. It opened in Paris in 1911 and was named New York. There is also a legend. The great artist Paul Gauguin invented this cocktail after doctors forbade him to drink absinthe. And they advised him to go to Tahiti.
Cocktail “Blue Lagoon” – a wonderful refreshing drink for hot and stuffy summer days. It has an impeccable blue color, pleasant taste and a magnificent aroma. The cocktail has established itself in the role of an excellent tonic drink, it perfectly restores and refreshes.
- Vodka – 1 oz
- Blue Curacao Liqueur – 1 oz
- Soda water or lemonade (quite suitable “Sprite”) – 1 oz
- Llemon juice (or lime juice) – 0,3 oz
- 1 cherry
Glass: highball glass, or hurricane, or a martini glass.
Using a shaker with ice, mix the vodka, Blue Curacao liqueur and lemon juice in a homogeneous mixture and pour into the serving glass. Then add lemonade (eg Sprite) to it.
Cocktail can be decorated (garnish) a slice of lemon (or lime), black cocktail cherry (cherry) and other exotic “things” – paper umbrellas, colorful tubes that add color. To drink a cocktail “the Blue lagoon” is better through a straw / straw.
Options / Modifications:
In the original old recipe for the Blue Loguna cocktail, silver tequila is used instead of vodka, and grapefruit juice instead of lemonade.
Often, instead of a highball glass, they use Hurricane Glass, or a martini glass.
